Soft Landing

A lone tundra swan spent two months in this snowy winter resting at Denny Lake, not far from my home. I painted this piece while sitting on a snowback one February afternoon and looking through a spotting scope. The wingtracks in the foreground may have belonged to the swan or one of the resident Canada geese, but I included them in the composition anyway. FRAMED: "Soft Landing" comes in a handmade oak frame by Shane Blair with museum-quality glass and a white mat.
